WHACKY STORIES – SERIES 7

This is a collection of some football gossip and rumours making the rounds. These are simply nothing more than that even though what you are about to read may contain a grain of truth.

1.       An unnamed Ghana Football Association top official is reported to have received a sum of $28,000 to smooth over the deal that led to telecommunications giants Glo sponsoring the Premier League and by extension, the Black Stars.

2.       One of several Ghanaian players to change clubs during the January transfer window is reported to have been blackmailed by unnamed persons to make the move. The unnamed player is said to have had ‘association’ with a prostitute and the action is said to have been captured on tape. The player had to make the move to avoid repercussions of the tape being made available to the public.

3.       Certain players are said to have been selected into the Local Black Stars squad after agreeing in principle to play for certain clubs.

4.       A potential storm is said to be brewing over certain owed monies from the deal by MTN to sponsor the FA Cup.  An unnamed member of the Ghana League Clubs Association says he is entitled to  an annual renumeration of 5% of the quantum of sponsorship by MTN and he is preparing legal action to retrieve his money.
