GHANAIANS ABROAD 1-2 FEBRUARY 2011

ENGLAND

In the Premier League, Michael Essien played the full match as Chelsea won 4-2 at Sunderland. Asamoah Gyan played the full 90 minutes for Sunderland whilst John Mensah was an unused substitute for the Black Cats. Danny Welbeck is still out injured.

Richard Kingston played the full game as Blackpool lost 3-1 at home to West Ham United.

John Paintsil played the entire match as Fulham beat Newcastle United 1-0.

In the Championship, Lloyd Sam replaced David Somma in the 69th minute as Leeds United drew 2-2 with Hull City.

BELGIUM

In the Pro League, William Acheampong played the full match as Cercle Brugge lost 2-1 to Lokeren.

Abdul Yakinu Iddi was replaced at half time by Jonathan Wilmet as Mechelen beat Kortrijk 1-0. Yakinu’s brother Abdul Ganiyu Iddi was replaced in the 72nd minute by Seth de Witte for Mechelen.

FRANCE

In the Coupe de France, John Boye was an unused substitute as Rennes lost 4-3 on penalties to Reims.

NETHERLANDS

In the Dutch Eredivisie, Nana Akwasi Asare played the full match as Utrecht drew 0-0 with De Graafschap.

ITALY

In the Serie A, Kevin Prince Boateng took no part in AC Milan’s 0-0 draw with Lazio through long term injury.

Stephen Appiah was replaced in the 61st minute by Paolo Sammarco as Cesena drew 1-1 with Catania.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom was not part of the Genoa squad that lost 1-0 to Fiorentina.

Afriyie Acquah was an unused substitute as Palermo beat Juventus 2-1.

Kwadwo Asamoah played the entire match as Udinese drew 1-1 with Bologna. Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was an unused substitute for Udinese.
