PLB INSPECTS TARKWA STADIUM

THE Premier League Board of the Ghana Football Association yesterday undertook an inspection of the Tarkwa Sports Stadium, which is the proposed home ground of Premier League side Medeama SC. The ground has already been used for Medeama’s FA Cup win over Real Tamale United and the club is trying to get the PLB’s approval to use it for Premier League matches. The PLB Chairman, Welbeck Abra Appiah told footyghana.com that certain observations were made during the inspection and Medeama SC was advised to implement some changes. He added that the Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association will be visiting the Tarkwa park again on Tuesday after which a decision will be taken. The club’s spokesperson, Tony Nkrumah Boateng also told footyghana.com that Medeama SC will comply with the advice given by the PLB, but expressed the hope that permission will be granted for the club to play their remaining league fixtures there. Tony further revealed that moving to Tarkwa will ease the financial woes of the club, adding that the move will enable the home fans to properly connect with the team.
