GHANA OR SOUTH AFRICA TO HOST 2011 AFRICAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS?

Footyghana.com has learnt that the Confederation of African Football is considering withdrawing this year’s African Youth Soccer Championships from Libya because of the escalating violence in that country. Political unrest in Libya, which was to host the event from the 18th of March, has seen the upsurge of violence and an increasing death toll which has caused concern within the corridors of CAF. Footyghana.com sources reveal that South Africa and Ghana are the two alternative hosts being considered by the African football governing body and a final decision will be taken tomorrow at the 33rd General Assembly of CAF in Sudan, where either Ghana or South Africa could be announced as the new hosts and a new date announced as well.
